Travel For Pennies On The Dollar For Bigger Savings Than Ever!

By Randy Steagall

It has never been cheap to see the world, but there has always been ways to travel for pennies on the dollar. Today, as travel become even more expensive, due to rising fossil fuel costs and all kinds of factors, you have to explore cheap and even free travel options, you do this or you stay home, the choice is yours.

For example time share has become a way to travel and stay in some really exclusive locations, and in comparison to a hotel stay, a timeshare, self catering option can't be beaten price-wise.

With ownership in a timeshare program you can choose to stay virtually anywhere in the world. All options are exchangeable and all you need to be able to do this is be a member of an exchange program. This will cost you around $90 a year, add to this the cost of the timeshare maintenance of about $600 and the exchange fee which is anything from $150 - $200 and you can get a weeks worth of great accommodations for under $900.

But what about considering a different kind of exchange, a home exchange? Think, luxury accommodations in France, Italy, Malaysia, Scotland, Ireland, Rio de Janeiro for four weeks, and what do you think that would cost? A big fat zero, that what, and more families and couples are doing this by becoming members of home swap sites.

Traveling for pennies on the dollar doesn't get more simple than this. Join a home exchange site and find a family similar to yours who wants to do a home swap and your accommodation is taken care of. Equate 4 weeks of accommodation at $900 in a time share and you have $900 x 4 for four air tickets to travel to your destination for your life trade. Just think you, your wife, and your two or more children could spend the entire summer exploring a new country.

Free is great and as added incentive to travel, frequent flier miles are a great way to get free travel, or at least one or two tickets paid for. There are some great programs for earning frequent flying mile, find out as much as you can about these, they also help you travel for pennies on the dollar.

For vacation savers, free stuff can't be beaten, and when you are traveling to another city, research where you can go and what you can do for free. For example London, and in fact the whole of the UK, there is a lot of free things to do and see. London is perfect, it is central and there are many free attractions.

Now there is definitely enough entertainment in and outside of London to keep you busy for three week, but you are two adults and three kids and this is expensive, and you also need to eat, as well as have a holiday. Find out about all the free stuff.

Someone said that a penny saved is a penny earned and in London (in fact the entire UK) you can visit museums, art galleries, events at tourism centers, country fairs, world heritage sites and all sorts for free. The London Museum of Natural History is a case in point, you can spend more than just one rainy day exploring the hallowed halls of this place of learning and still not see everything or get bored. - 33387
